As a teacher and life-long language learner, I understand the challenges that many students face when learning a new language. My goal is to foster a positive space in which every student receives the time and care they need to succeed. I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions because that is the best way for them to learn. It is my goal for every student to leave my classroom as a proud and confident English speaker.

I always strive to be an effective and encouraging teacher by recognizing the importance of each student's individual progress and improvement on their journey to learn English. Acknowledging their hard work and development is essential, as it allows students to build confidence in their abilities. Mistakes are a necessary part of the learning process and I want my students to understand I am proud of them simply for trying their best, regardless of the right answer. We can always work together to improve. I carefully assess each of my students and look for ways to encourage them during lessons to build on both the skills they already have and the ones we learn together. Seeing the tangible results of my efforts inspires me, and is why I place a great deal of emphasis on recognizing a student's growth. I like to create a friendly, but serious atmosphere to help students focus on their work and enjoy the process of learning.

I believe the greater purpose of education is not to enslave learners but to set them free. Children are unique and need a stimulating educational environment
where they can grow physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. My role as the teacher will be to assist each child in developing their potential and learning styles. During my full-time English teaching in South Africa, have had to be more patient to accommodate learners of different cultural backgrounds, learning styles, and intellectual abilities. This has encouraged me to be more creative and open-minded when teaching English.

As a teacher, I am earnest, energetic, patient, and kind. I am also empathetic, and this is important when trying to connect with students. I'd like students to feel better than they did before being in my class, and I love to bring positive energy into every space that I find myself in. I am also very open-minded, so I understand that I will also be learning from the students as I teach them. I want to encourage students to have fun with the English language and to understand that making mistakes is a part of the learning process.

I believe the classroom should be a safe, fair, and positive space where students from diverse backgrounds feel welcomed, heard, and encouraged to express themselves with respect. Learning should be a journey of exploration, where students are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow with confidence.
As a lifelong learner myself, I strive to instill a love for continuous learning in my students. I encourage them to try, even when unsure, because effort builds confidence and engagement. My role as a teacher is to guide, facilitate, and support each learner in acquiring knowledge in ways that best suit their needs. Ultimately, I hope to ignite a passion for learning English and make a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
